North Park Bruce Johnson Sports Complex
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
About
Harbor Beach Little League has partnered with the City of Harbor Beach on a major improvement project at North Park to create safer, more functional, and more welcoming fields for players, families, and the community.
This project is about long-term investment. North Park has served generations of players, and these updates will ensure it continues to do so for many years to come.
Planned improvements include:
Two Little League–sized fields
Newly planted outfields with underground sprinkler systems
Improved infields using a professionally installed aggregate surface
Black coated fencing and upgraded backstop netting
New dugouts designed for durability and consistency
Field lighting to allow for evening games and expanded scheduling
A new multi-use building that includes:
Concession stand (with future-ready utilities)
Restrooms
Equipment storage
An indoor batting cage with garage-style doors for weather flexibility
Timeline & Use:
Field construction and infrastructure work are underway.
The goal is to have fields playable for regular-season use once complete.
Tournaments are not planned for the 2026 season.
The focus is on finishing the project properly and establishing smooth operations.Tournament hosting is a future goal once the facility is fully established.
How This Project Is Funded:
This is a shared community effort supported by a combination of:
City-led infrastructure work
Donations from local businesses and organizations
Contributions made through Harbor Beach Little League
Harbor Beach Little League is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which allows us to accept donations that are used directly for field improvements, equipment, and player-focused needs tied to this project.
About Donations & Sponsorships:
We recognize that there are multiple ways people support youth sports, and we want to be clear:
Project donations support field and facility improvements at North Park.
Team sponsorships directly support player costs, uniforms, and league operations.
Both are important, and neither replaces the other.
If you have questions about how a donation is used or what option makes the most sense for you or your business, we are happy to help.
Why This Matters:
For years, families and teams have worked around limited field conditions. These improvements will:
Create safer playing environments
Expand practice and game opportunities
Reduce weather-related cancellations
Provide spaces for player development, including indoor training options
Make North Park a point of pride for Harbor Beach
This project reflects what can happen when a community invests together in its kids.
